Because Two MICHELIN Keys put it among Chicago's three Two-Key hotels, alongside The Peninsula and The Langham – a young hotel with no Forbes rating, carried in by MICHELIN alone, and we list it in the four-star tier.
- Opened in May 2021 inside the Carbide & Carbon Building at 230 North Michigan Avenue – the Burnham Brothers' 37-story Art Deco tower of 1929, black granite below and gold above, a Chicago Landmark since 1996 – with more than 360 rooms and suites, and Pendry Suites of about 1,000 square feet.
- Two MICHELIN Keys in 2025 – one of three Two-Key hotels in Chicago, with The Peninsula and The Langham, among the seven Key hotels in Illinois.
- Venteux, chef Donald Young's restaurant, and Bar Pendry downstairs; the Château Carbide rooftop at the top of the tower.
- No Forbes rating and no other credential: the hotel enters on its Keys alone, and we say so.
