A sense of the place

Why it's in the collection
Because it began in 1981 as a restaurant with the best view in the valley and only later added rooms – so the terrace still comes first, and every maison has one.
- The founding property of Auberge Resorts Collection: Claude Rouas opened The Restaurant in 1981 and added the inn in 1985, on 33 acres of heritage olive and oak above Rutherford.
- 50 rooms and suites in free-standing, Provence-inspired maisons, each with a fireplace, a soaking tub and a private terrace over the valley.
- The Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil, a kitchen executive chef Robert Curry has led for more than eighteen years, with a cellar of roughly 15,000 bottles.
- The Aerena Sculpture Garden – nearly a hundred outdoor works set through the olive groves – and the Bistro & Bar's wraparound deck.
