Because it is the complete mountain-base resort — butler service, a spa brought from Bangkok, an après-ski lodge of its own — with Aspen Mountain rising behind it.

  • Opened in 1992 as The Ritz-Carlton Aspen and renamed The St. Regis Aspen in January 1998; the red-brick resort sits at the base of Aspen Mountain on Dean Street.
  • 179 rooms and suites, topped by the 1,900-square-foot Presidential Suite with signature St. Regis butler service.
  • RAKxa Wellness Spa, the Bangkok retreat's first outpost abroad, opened in 2023 across 15,000 square feet with 17 treatment rooms, oxygen lounges, heated whirlpools and cold plunges.
  • Velvet Buck serves modern mountain cooking and Mountain Social pours cocktails to live music; The Snow Lodge, the winter après-ski residency, has hosted Marea Aspen, Altamarea Group's coastal Italian under chef PJ Calapa, since December 2025.
