Because the brand began here – rebuilt in 2000 opposite the Water Tower and renovated for $60 million in 2022 – with Forbes Four-Star for the rooms and a Forbes Four-Star restaurant, NoMI Kitchen, looking onto the Water Tower; and we list it at exactly the tier it holds.

• The world's first Park Hyatt, built in 1980 at 800 North Michigan Avenue, opposite the Water Tower, rebuilt and reopened in 2000, and renovated for $60 million in a project completed in 2022 – 146 rooms and 36 suites, 182 keys in all.
• Forbes Four-Star 2026 for the hotel, listed here as exactly that; NoMI Kitchen holds a Forbes Four-Star rating of its own among Chicago's restaurants. A Virtuoso hotel, also sold through Hyatt Privé.
• NoMI Kitchen looks onto the Water Tower; NoMI Lounge and NoMI Spa share the name, and the indoor pool runs 25 yards.
• The Presidential Suite and the DuSable Suite lead the collection.
