A sense of the place

Why it's in the collection

Because it is the first Raffles in North America, and it arrived with everything the name implies – 24-hour Raffles Butler service, a Guerlain spa and a Sky Lobby seventeen floors above Copley Square.

  • Opened in September 2023 at 40 Trinity Place, beside Back Bay Station and Copley Square – the first Raffles in North America – with 147 rooms and suites in a 35-story tower and Raffles-branded residences above.
  • Interiors by Stonehill Taylor, with botanical motifs drawn from the Emerald Necklace and copper accents after Paul Revere.
  • A Sky Lobby on the 17th floor with the Long Bar & Terrace; La Padrona, chef Jody Adams' Italian restaurant, the two-story Blind Duck speakeasy and Café Pastel.
  • Guerlain Spa on the fourth floor – three treatment suites, a couples suite, saunas, steam and ice showers – with a 20-meter heated indoor lap pool; the 2,167-square-foot Raffles Suite has a baby grand piano, a fireplace and dining for ten, and Raffles Butler service runs around the clock.

The neighborhood

Back Bay

The Public Garden, Newbury Street and Copley Square on a nineteenth-century grid of brick and brownstone – five of the seven hotels are here, all within a mile of one another.

  • Copley Square – Trinity Church and the Boston Public Library – around the corner.
  • The Boston Marathon finish line on Boylston Street.
  • Back Bay Station next door, for the train to New York.
