When is the best season for Phuket & Krabi?
November to April is the high season, dry and calm, with the year-end holidays as the peak; the south-west monsoon runs from May to October, with lower rates, afternoon rain and rougher seas on the west-coast beaches and the island crossings. The east coast and Phang Nga Bay stay more sheltered in the monsoon months.
How do you get to Phuket & Krabi – and do I need a visa?
Phuket International Airport serves the island: about half an hour to Kamala and Bang Tao, forty minutes to Cape Yamu, an hour to the south. Krabi International Airport serves Krabi and Koh Lanta.
