A sense of the place
Why it's in the collection
Because the house stands on the Maqta channel, with a beach facing the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque – and Fairmont holds it to four-star standing, listed at exactly the tier it holds.
- On the Khor Al Maqta channel, at the Maqta Bridge, opposite the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque; a Fairmont hotel.
- Its own beach and pools on the channel, with the mosque across the water; the restaurants and terraces of the waterfront.
- Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star 2026 for the hotel.
The neighborhood
Grand Canal & Khor Al Maqta
The channel between the island and the mainland, facing the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, with two of the eleven hotels. The mosque's white domes rise on the far bank, and the Maqta and Mussafah bridges cross the channel, the Bain Al Jessrain quarter between the two. Around the channel lie the Qaryat Al Beri complex with its souk and canals, the Grand Canal along the shore and the mangroves of the eastern lagoons; the airport is fifteen minutes away.
- The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, across the water.
- The Souk Qaryat Al Beri, a few minutes along the shore.
- Zayed International Airport, about fifteen minutes by car.
