A sense of the place

Golden hour over Diplomatic Quarter, Al Hada & Via Riyadh

Why it's in the collection

Because a house inside the gated Diplomatic Quarter puts the embassies, the parks and the trails of the quarter at the door, with the quiet no tower in Olaya can offer – and Marriott holds it to four-star standing, listed at exactly the tier it holds.

  • Inside the Diplomatic Quarter, the gated district of embassies in the west of the city; a Marriott hotel.
  • The parks, the walking trails and Tuwaiq Palace of the quarter around it, on the edge of Wadi Hanifah.
  • Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star 2026 for the hotel.

The neighborhood

Diplomatic Quarter, Al Hada & Via Riyadh

The green west of the city – the Diplomatic Quarter, Al Hada and Via Riyadh, with three of the six hotels. The Diplomatic Quarter, the gated district of embassies, was laid out in the 1980s on the edge of Wadi Hanifah, with its parks, its walking trails and Tuwaiq Palace. Al Hada, the district of grounds and gardens, lies beside it on Mecca Road; Via Riyadh, the open-air quarter of restaurants, shops and cinemas, opened in 2023; and beyond them runs the road to Diriyah and At-Turaif.

  • The parks and trails of the Diplomatic Quarter, at the door.
  • The Ritz-Carlton, Riyadh and Al Hada, next door to the quarter.
  • Diriyah and At-Turaif, fifteen minutes to the north-west.
