A sense of the place

Why it's in the collection

Because a resort built as a Qatari village – low courtyards, a beach on the old Doha shore – sits a few minutes from the National Museum and from Hamad International – and The Ritz-Carlton holds it to four-star standing, listed at exactly the tier it holds.

  • A village of low courtyard buildings and a beach on the old Doha shore, near Hamad International; a Ritz-Carlton hotel.
  • Its own beach on the Gulf; the spa of the house.
  • Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star 2026 for the hotel.

Golden hour over Katara & Old Doha

Katara & Old Doha

The two shores either side of the bay, at Katara and in old Doha, with two of the thirteen hotels. Katara Cultural Village lies between West Bay and The Pearl, with its amphitheater, opera house, mosques, galleries and public beach. The old shore south of the Corniche runs from Souq Waqif and the Museum of Islamic Art to the National Museum of Qatar, the Mina district of the old port and the road to Hamad International.

  • The National Museum of Qatar, a short drive along the shore.
  • The Museum of Islamic Art and Souq Waqif, a few minutes by car.
  • Hamad International, about ten minutes away.
