Two One&Only hotels are in the Stanza collection, across two destinations: Los Cabos and Punta Mita & Riviera Nayarit. What they share is the Mexican Pacific taken two different ways — Palmilla, the original grand resort of Los Cabos, open since 1956 on the Palmilla point above one of the few swimmable coves on that coast; and Mandarina, 105 treehouse and clifftop villas in a jungle preserve north of Banderas Bay, a different idea of a beach resort altogether. When is the best time to stay at a One&Only hotel?
It depends on the destination, though the two coasts agree on the dry season: November through April — Los Cabos runs it to May — with dry days, a warm sea and the humpback whales off Los Cabos from about December through April and in Banderas Bay from about December through March. August to October is the hurricane season on both coasts, quieter and softer, and worth a look at the forecast before you commit.
