Montage hotels in five destinations
STANZA is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or a partner of Montage.
Five Montage hotels are in the Stanza collection; all five hold five-star standing. The first Montage, opened in 2003, is a Craftsman-style resort on thirty clifftop acres above Treasure Island beach in Laguna; the others are bungalows under the oaks above Healdsburg, the highest hotel base in Deer Valley, a ski-in, ski-out lodge in the Spanish Peaks Mountain Club at Big Sky and a resort on the protected cove of Santa María Bay in Los Cabos. Each hotel page shows reference rates for your dates, and the concierge confirms exact rates and availability before anything is booked.

Where are the Montage houses of the collection, from the Pacific to the Rockies?
In five destinations, one house in each. In California: Orange County Coast, on the clifftop beside Treasure Island Park in South Laguna, and Napa Valley & Sonoma, on 258 acres of oak woodland outside Healdsburg — the one address we list in Sonoma County. In the mountains: Park City & Deer Valley, on Empire Pass at roughly 8,300 feet, and Montana, inside the Spanish Peaks Mountain Club at Big Sky, about forty-five minutes from Yellowstone's west entrance. In Mexico: Los Cabos, on Santa María Bay, on the Cabo San Lucas half of the Tourist Corridor.
What do the Montage houses here share, from the spa to the bowling alley?
Spa Montage: at Laguna Beach it holds five-star standing of its own; at Deer Valley it runs to 35,000 square feet, with an indoor lap pool; at Healdsburg it sits twenty feet above the vines; at Big Sky it has its indoor pool. The two mountain houses each have a bowling alley — Daly's Pub & Rec at Deer Valley, Beartooth Pub & Rec at Big Sky — and Deer Valley pairs guests with an Olympian on the mountain through its Ski with a Champion program. Laguna Beach hangs California plein-air painting, William Wendt and Edgar Payne among the artists, and Los Cabos keeps swimming and snorkeling straight from its beach.
When are the Montage houses at their best — on the snow, among the vines or by the sea?
Deer Valley in the ski season, from early December into April, or in summer, when its slopes open to hikers and mountain bikers; Big Sky from December to April, with the deepest snow in February and March, or from June to September, on the rivers and in Yellowstone; Healdsburg at harvest, from late August into October, or in February and March, when the mustard blooms between the rows; Laguna Beach in September and October, with the warmest water of the year and the summer crowds gone; and Los Cabos from November through May, with the humpback whales in the water from about December through April. Each destination page carries its note on the best months, and the concierge advises on dates for a specific hotel.
How do I reserve at a Montage, from Laguna Beach to Big Sky, through Stanza?
Search your dates on the hotel's page to see reference rates, then send the concierge a request. The concierge confirms exact rates and availability with you before anything is booked, and any payment and its timing are set out before you confirm.
