A sense of the place

Why it's in the collection

Because a Sauternes estate classified in 1855 keeps its thirteenth-century château on a hilltop facing Yquem, and Lalique turned it into a house of thirteen keys – three suites and ten rooms in glass and crystal, with the restaurant Lalique at its heart – and the estate holds it to four-star standing.

  • On the hilltop of Bommes in the Sauternes appellation, facing Château d'Yquem, forty kilometers south of Bordeaux; the château of a Premier Cru Classé estate of 1855, owned by the Lalique Group.
  • 3 suites and 10 rooms dressed in Lalique crystal and glass inside a thirteenth-century château; the restaurant Lalique, the estate's cellars and the Sauternes vines from every window.
  • Two MICHELIN Keys in the 2025 selection; holds four-star standing.

The neighborhood

Golden hour over Sauternes & Barsac

Sauternes & Barsac

The sweet-wine hills forty kilometers south of Bordeaux – home to one of the three hotels. They run along the left bank of the Garonne through the communes of Sauternes, Bommes, Fargues, Preignac and Barsac, with Château d'Yquem on its rise and Langon on the river. In autumn the mists bring the noble rot to the Sémillon.

  • The Sauternes vines and Château d'Yquem, across the lane.
  • Sauternes village and Barsac, a few minutes' drive.
  • Langon and the Garonne, ten minutes east.
