Saadiyat Island
The island across the bridge from the Corniche, with nine kilometers of white sand and three of the eleven hotels. The hawksbill turtles nest in that sand, and the Louvre Abu Dhabi sits under Jean Nouvel's dome, with the Cultural District rising beside it. Manarat Al Saadiyat, the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club and the Mamsha Al Saadiyat promenade with its restaurants are on the island too; the city is twenty minutes away, and Yas Island fifteen minutes further on.
Grand Canal & Khor Al Maqta
The channel between the island and the mainland, facing the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, with two of the eleven hotels. The mosque's white domes rise on the far bank, and the Maqta and Mussafah bridges cross the channel, the Bain Al Jessrain quarter between the two. Around the channel lie the Qaryat Al Beri complex with its souk and canals, the Grand Canal along the shore and the mangroves of the eastern lagoons; the airport is fifteen minutes away.
