A sense of the place

Why it's in the collection

Because to call the setting magical is no understatement, and the resort delivers on both inspiration and relaxation: the silhouettes of the canyon walls in the water, a pool attendant and cheerful staff on the chaises, casitas built of adobe in modern south-western style, and a Trail House that sends you into the rock and takes you back to a fireplace.

  • At the mouth of Boynton Canyon, seven miles west of town; independent house, sister of Mii amo.
  • Casitas and hacienda suites with decks and fireplaces; the pool under the red rock; the Trail House; Che Ah Chi, Tii Gavo and The Edge; golf at Seven Canyons; access by reservation to Mii amo.
  • Seventy acres at the mouth of the canyon, on the Yavapai's ancestral land; private decks and working fireplaces; a Trail House that outfits every hike, ride and climb; Che Ah Chi's canyon-view table and the casual Tii Gavo.
  • Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star 2026 for the hotel; holds four-star standing.

The neighborhood

First light over Boynton Canyon

Boynton Canyon

The box canyon seven miles west of town, one of Sedona's vortexes, with the red rock at its closest. It lies on the Yavapai's ancestral land, a few degrees cooler than Uptown, with the trail into the canyon, the golf of Seven Canyons and two houses at its mouth.

  • Boynton Canyon and its trail, at the door.
  • Seven Canyons golf, minutes away.
  • Uptown Sedona, about a quarter of an hour; Phoenix airport, about two hours.
“The resort of adobe casitas at the mouth of Boynton Canyon, one of Sedona's vortexes, with the red rock reflected in the pool.”
