A sense of the place

Why it's in the collection

Because its cave suites are cut into the cliff at Oia, each with a plunge pool of its own over the caldera, and Lycabettus sets its tables on a terrace over the sea – and the house holds five-star standing, the only one of the four we list on Santorini to do so.

  • Cave suites cut into the caldera cliff at Oia, each with a private plunge pool on its terrace; an Andronis Exclusive house, one of the three Andronis keeps on Santorini.
  • Lycabettus, the restaurant, sets its tables on a terrace hung over the sea.
  • Seasonal: the house opens for the season, roughly April to October, and closes for the winter; the concierge confirms the dates for your stay.
  • Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star 2026 for the hotel – the only Five-Star on Santorini on the guide's 2026 list; holds five-star standing.

The neighborhood

First light over Oia

Oia

The village at the northern tip of the caldera rim, with three of the four hotels. It holds the blue domes and the windmills, the marble lane of galleries, the castle ruins where the island gathers for the sunset, and Ammoudi Bay with its fish tavernas down the stair below.

  • The sunset from the castle ruins at the tip of Oia, a few minutes' walk.
  • Ammoudi Bay and its fish tavernas, down the stair below the village.
  • The rim path to Imerovigli and Fira, from the edge of the village.
