A sense of the place

Why it's in the collection

Because fifteen residences over the water are the whole of the island, the roof over them is solar and everything from the spa to the excursions and the wine is included – and it holds five-star standing.

  • A private island in Lhaviyani Atoll, forty minutes by seaplane from Velana International; independent, of Crown & Champa Resorts.
  • Fifteen overwater residences and nothing else on the island, the only resort in the Maldives run wholly on solar power; fully inclusive, the spa, the excursions and the wine among what is included.
  • Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star 2026 for the hotel, its fifth year in a row; holds five-star standing.

Baa, Raa, Noonu & Lhaviyani Atolls

The atolls to the north of Malé, reached by seaplane or domestic flight, with twelve of the twenty-four hotels. They lie an atoll or two apart from one another. Baa, a UNESCO biosphere reserve since 2011, has Hanifaru Bay and its mantas; Raa and Noonu lie beyond it, where the private islands are; Lhaviyani, to the east, has its channels and dive sites.

  • Hurawalhi Island Resort, its sister island next door, and 5.8, the undersea restaurant there.
  • The channels and dive sites of Lhaviyani Atoll, by boat.
  • Malé and Velana International, forty minutes by seaplane.
