Why it's in the collection

Because a Cotswold-stone manor outside Malmesbury keeps twenty-three rooms, twelve acres of gardens, a one-star dining room and a spa with salt rooms and a tepidarium under one family's care – and the Landolts hold it to four-star standing.

  • A country house at Easton Grey, two miles west of Malmesbury and its abbey, opened as a hotel on 1 July 2003 in twelve acres of gardens; the Landolt family's house, independently owned.
  • 23 rooms and suites; The Dining Room holds one MICHELIN star, with Grey's Brasserie for the rest of the week.
  • The Aquarias spa with its salt rooms and tepidarium; Two MICHELIN Keys in the 2025 selection; holds four-star standing.

The neighborhood

The southern Cotswolds

The southern hills between the Thames and the Avon, home to two of the four hotels. Lechlade sits at the head of the navigable Thames. The hills also take in the Coln valley and Bibury's Arlington Row, Cirencester on the site of Roman Corinium, Tetbury and Westonbirt Arboretum, and Malmesbury and its abbey on the Wiltshire border, with Kemble station for the London trains.

  • The gardens and the Avon valley, from the door.
  • Malmesbury and its abbey, two miles east.
  • Tetbury, Westonbirt Arboretum and Castle Combe, a short drive.
