Two Sofitel hotels are in the Stanza collection; both are four-star addresses, labeled as such.

Two Sofitel hotels are in the Stanza collection; both are four-star addresses, labeled as such. They span two destinations, one in each: London and Dubai. Sofitel is the French luxury brand of Accor, born in Strasbourg, where the first Sofitel opened in 1964. In London it keeps Sofitel London St James, in the former Cox's & King's bank on Pall Mall, at the corner of Waterloo Place, with Wild Honey St James at table and Trafalgar Square a few minutes' walk away. In Dubai it keeps Sofitel Dubai The Palm, a Polynesian-styled beach resort on the east crescent of Palm Jumeirah, with lagoon pools through the gardens, the Sofitel Spa and its own beach on the crescent. Both are four-star addresses, and we list them at exactly that tier. Each page carries our editorial notes, and the concierge confirms exact rates and availability before anything is booked.

Where does Stanza list Sofitel hotels?
In two destinations, one hotel in each: London, where Sofitel London St James occupies the former Cox's & King's bank on Pall Mall, at the corner of Waterloo Place, with Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery a few minutes' walk, St James's Park and the Mall a street south and Piccadilly Circus and the theaters a short walk north; and Dubai, where Sofitel Dubai The Palm stands on the east crescent of Palm Jumeirah, on its own beach, with Atlantis, The Palm and Aquaventure Waterpark along the crescent and The View at The Palm and Nakheel Mall on the trunk through the tunnel.
What distinguishes the Sofitel hotels in the collection?
Each was admitted on its own merits, one hotel at a time, never by brand. The two could hardly be more different, which is the point: in London, a bank of Pall Mall turned hotel, with Wild Honey St James at table and the clubs of St James's for neighbors; in Dubai, a beach resort in Polynesian style on the crescent of the Palm, lagoon pools through the gardens and the Sofitel Spa a few steps from the sand. Sofitel London St James and Sofitel Dubai The Palm both hold four-star standing, and we list them at exactly that tier.
When is the best time to stay at a Sofitel hotel?
It depends on the destination. London belongs to late spring and early autumn — May, June and September — with the Chelsea Flower Show in late May, Trooping the Colour in June and Wimbledon at the turn of July taking the rooms months ahead; July and August are the warmest and busiest months, the weeks before Christmas the fullest, and January and February the quietest. Dubai belongs to the winter, from late October to April — days in the mid-twenties, evenings cool enough for a terrace and a sea warm enough to swim in — with the weeks from mid-December through New Year's Eve at the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Shopping Festival in January and the Dubai World Cup at Meydan at the end of March filling first; from June to September the afternoons pass forty degrees and the resorts are at their quietest, and May and October are the shoulders, hot but usable, with the sea at its best. Each destination page carries its note on the months, and the concierge advises on dates for a specific hotel.
How do I reserve a Sofitel hotel through Stanza?
Search your dates on the hotel's page to see reference rates, then send the concierge a request. The concierge confirms exact rates and availability with you before anything is booked, and any payment and its timing are set out before you confirm.
