The collection
3 hotels
Three Six Senses hotels are in the Stanza collection, in three destinations. The first Six Senses in Japan, opened in 2024 in the Toyokuni Shrine quarter of Kyoto's Higashiyama, stands with two island resorts in Thailand: pool villas on a hillside of Koh Yao Noi, in the middle of Phang Nga Bay, and villas scattered over a headland at Plai Laem, on Koh Samui. All three are four-star addresses, labeled as such. Each hotel page shows reference rates for your dates, and the concierge confirms exact rates and availability before anything is booked.
Good to know
Where are the Six Senses houses of the collection, from Higashiyama to the Gulf?
In three destinations, one house in each. Kyoto: in the Toyokuni Shrine quarter of Higashiyama, five minutes on foot from Sanjusangendo and the Kyoto National Museum and fifteen from Kiyomizu-dera. Phuket & Krabi: on Koh Yao Noi, the island in the middle of Phang Nga Bay, forty-five minutes by the hotel's speedboat from Phuket's east-coast piers. Koh Samui: on the raised headland at Plai Laem, Bophut, looking into the Gulf, ten minutes from the Big Buddha temple and fifteen from Samui airport.
What do the Six Senses houses here share, and how does each differ?
All three keep a spa — in Kyoto the Six Senses spa with the Alchemy Bar, on Koh Samui a spa with its wellness programs, the brand's ethos of wellness and sustainability running the kitchen, the spa and the boats. Kyoto, the brand's first house in Japan, opened in 2024 around a garden courtyard; Yao Noi sets its pool villas on a hillside facing the limestone karst islands; and Samui scatters split-level villas of local hardwoods through the indigenous growth of the headland, most with a private infinity pool, with a hilltop restaurant and boats to the islands.
When is each Six Senses house at its best?
Kyoto for the cherry blossom, from late March into mid April, or for the autumn leaves, from mid November into early December — the two seasons the whole country travels for — or in May and June, green and quiet before the rains; Yao Noi from November to April, the dry, calm season, and in the monsoon months Phang Nga Bay stays more sheltered than the west coast; and Samui from late December to April, the driest stretch, with May to September warm and spared the Andaman monsoon, and heavy rains in October and November. Each destination page carries its note on the best months, and the concierge advises on dates for a specific hotel.
How do I reserve at a Six Senses, from Kyoto to Koh Samui, through Stanza?
Search your dates on the hotel's page to see reference rates, then send the concierge a request. The concierge confirms exact rates and availability with you before anything is booked, and any payment and its timing are set out before you confirm.
