Two Lungarno Collection hotels are in the Stanza collection; one holds five-star standing. They span two destinations: Florence & Tuscany and Milan. What they share is the Ferragamo family's idea of a city hotel, and the name Portrait: in Florence a house of suites and nothing else on the Arno, a few steps from the Ponte Vecchio, one of the three addresses we list in Florence itself; in Milan the 16th-century Seminario Arcivescovile on Corso Venezia, at the edge of the Quadrilatero della Moda, opened in 2022 around a courtyard the size of a piazza — the newest of the ten houses we list in the city. Portrait Firenze holds five-star standing; Portrait Milano is a four-star address and is listed as such. Each page shows a reference rate per night, and the concierge confirms exact rates and availability before anything is booked.

Good to know

Where does Stanza list Lungarno Collection hotels?

In two destinations, one hotel in each: Florence & Tuscany, where Portrait Firenze stands on the Arno in the centro storico, a few steps from the Ponte Vecchio, with the Uffizi on the same bank and the Oltrarno and Palazzo Pitti across the bridge; and Milan, where Portrait Milano occupies the Seminario Arcivescovile on Corso Venezia, at the edge of the Quadrilatero, with Via Sant'Andrea and Via Montenapoleone through the courtyard.

What distinguishes the Lungarno Collection hotels in the collection?

Each was admitted on its own merits, one hotel at a time, never by brand. The two are the Ferragamo family's Portrait houses: in Florence, suites only — there are no standard rooms in the house — on the river with the Ponte Vecchio a few steps away, and the service run to match; in Milan, a 16th-century archbishop's seminary opened as a hotel in 2022 around its monumental courtyard piazza. Portrait Firenze holds five-star standing; Portrait Milano holds four-star standing, and we list it at exactly that tier.

When is the best time to stay at a Lungarno Collection hotel?

It depends on the destination. Florence belongs to spring and early autumn — April through June for the gardens and the long evenings, September and October for the grape harvest in Chianti and around Montalcino — while July and August are hot in the city and winter is the quiet time, with the museums without the lines. Milan fills by the calendar rather than the weather: Fashion Week in late February and late September and the Salone del Mobile in April take every room in the city and are booked months ahead, while April to June and September to October are otherwise the pleasant months and the opera season opens at La Scala on 7 December. Each destination page carries its note on the months, and the concierge advises on dates for a specific hotel.

How do I reserve a Lungarno Collection hotel through Stanza?

Search your dates on the hotel's page to see reference rates, then send the concierge a request. The concierge confirms exact rates and availability with you before anything is booked, and any payment and its timing are set out before you confirm.
