Seven Banyan Tree hotels are in the Stanza collection, in seven destinations. Five are villa resorts: Vabbinfaru, the brand's first island in the Maldives, open since 1995; open-sided bale villas over Bali's Ayung valley; pool suites and villas facing the Hong Islands on Krabi's Tubkaek beach; a hillside above a private inlet on Koh Samui; and the bay of Lang Co, halfway between Hue, Da Nang and Hoi An. The other two are a beach resort on Dubai's Bluewaters Island, beneath Ain Dubai, and a tower on the edge of Msheireb Downtown in Doha. All seven are four-star addresses, labeled as such. Each hotel page shows reference rates for your dates, and the concierge confirms exact rates and availability before anything is booked.

Good to know

Where are the Banyan Tree houses of the collection, from the Gulf to the South China Sea?

In seven destinations, one house in each. In the Gulf: Dubai, on Bluewaters Island off the JBR beachfront, a footbridge from The Beach, and Doha, in the La Cigale Mushaireb tower, a short walk from Souq Waqif. In the Indian Ocean: the Maldives, on Vabbinfaru, a small island in North Malé Atoll twenty-five minutes by speedboat from Velana International. In Southeast Asia: Bali, in the highlands of Payangan, north of Ubud; Phuket & Krabi, on Tubkaek beach, north of Ao Nang; Koh Samui, at Maret on the south-east coast, ten minutes from Lamai; and Vietnam, on the bay of Lang Co at Chan May, about an hour from Hue and from Da Nang airport.

Which Banyan Tree houses here are built around the villa, and what sets each apart?

Five of the seven. Vabbinfaru rings its island with beachfront pool villas and keeps a marine lab on it; Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape, has bale villas with no walls and no doors, each with its own pool over the Ayung valley; Krabi's pool suites and villas face the Hong Islands, with a spa in the rainforest behind; on Koh Samui a funicular runs between the levels of the hillside, above a beach of the resort's own; and Lang Co's pool villas, modeled on the garden houses of Hue, come with resident guides for heritage, ecology and adventure and a Nick Faldo course with views of the sea. The other two, a beach resort and a tower, each keep a Banyan Tree Spa: Dubai under Ain Dubai, with a beach on the island, and Doha under Vertigo, the rooftop.

When is each Banyan Tree house at its best?

Vabbinfaru in the Maldives' dry season, from November to April, with the calmest seas and the clearest water; Dubai from late October to April and Doha from October to April, the Gulf winter; Buahan in Bali's dry season, from April to October; Krabi from November to April, before the south-west monsoon roughens the island crossings; Koh Samui from late December to April, the driest stretch — the island sits on the Gulf side and is spared the Andaman monsoon — with heavy rains in October and November; and Lang Co from March to September, the beach season of the central coast, which takes the rains and the typhoons from September to December. Each destination page carries its note on the best months, and the concierge advises on dates for a specific hotel.

How do I reserve at a Banyan Tree, from Vabbinfaru to Lang Co, through Stanza?

Search your dates on the hotel's page to see reference rates, then send the concierge a request. The concierge confirms exact rates and availability with you before anything is booked, and any payment and its timing are set out before you confirm.
